Corporate logo of Universiti Teknologi MARA
Finally, after all those preparation, all those late-night-last-minute-study.It will all comes to this moment. With the unpainted columns, long rows of chairs, silent atmosphere,
bright lights, it all adds up to the pressure! Not to mention the examination questions themselves!

Last Minute Study Before A Test!!

Corporate logo of Universiti Teknologi MARA
On the 10th,12th and 14th oh July, all Foundation Studies in Science students had their 1st Test! While you probably know that cramming is one of the worst ways to study for an exam, the fact is that virtually everyone finds themselves in this situation once in a while.

'Lepak'ing when doing an Experiment

Corporate logo of Universiti Teknologi MARA
Yeah, you read it correctly. 'Lepak'ing is a combination of Malay and English. It means chill-out or relax. You might think that it is very silly of us to 'lepak' when we are in a middle of an experiment. But we have valid reason to do so!

These photos was taken this afternoon. Whilst everyone was on their lunch break, my group had to do a Biology experiment, entitled "Photosynthesis"
Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar. This process occurs in plants and some algae. Plants need only light energy, carbon dioxide and water to make sugar. The process of photosynthesis takes place in the choloplasts, specifically using cholophyll.

Whilst waiting for the plants to photosynthesize (40minutes), me and my friends chill out and take photos of ourselves! haha

Physics Lab Experiment

These are some photos taken when I'm doing physics experiment yesterday. The title of the experiment is Spring Elasticity.

Elasticity is one one of the physical characteristics of a solid. It shows whether a material will return to its original state when an external force applied to it is removed.

The quantitative discussion of the elasticity of a spring can be summarized according to Hooke's Law which defined as follows.
The force applied on an elastic object is proportional to the displacement of the material from its original position.

We Can't Keep Awake In Lectures!

Corporate logo of Universiti Teknologi MARAImage via Wikipedia
Its true. No matter how many time you denied it, some of us cant keep awake when listening to lectures, especially those tediously boring lectures.
You dont believe me?
Then here's the proof ....
(the 3 guys in this pic are actually my friends!) Sorry guys..

At the start of the lecture (first 10 minutes), everyone's smiling (well, almost everyone!)

You don't have to wait long..This photo is taken 30 minutes after the start of lecture

After 1 hour...and they're still asleep!

There you go, solid evidence and can be use in court, lol. Most of us can keep our eyes open in the lecture hall, and most of us cant.I highly respect those who can survive the agony of keeping awake, even when most of the people in the lecture hall are asleep!

There are some ways of keeping awake in lectures:
  1. Go to the toilet and wash your face
  2. Take 2min and have a little walk outside the lecture hall to stimulate blood flow
  3. Eat something - sweets, chewing gum etc
  4. Use eye drops!
  5. Have a chat with the guy next to you

Some of the Photos Taken While Conducting an Experiment

Corporate logo of Universiti Teknologi MARAImage via Wikipedia
Here are some random photos taken while we are conducting an experiment ( To find the Limiting Reactant in a mixture of two soluble salts).

In a chemical reaction, if the reacting substance are mixed together in exact proportions as given by the equation (referred to as stoichiometric quantities), then all the reactants will be completely and simultaneously used up at the end of the reaction.
However, if the quantity of one of the reactants is in excess, then the reactants which is the first to be used up in the reaction is called a limiting reactant.

What is he staring at?
